Live Agricultural Census Socialization through Tanjungpinang Dialogue Today

On Tuesday, 30 May 2023, Mr. I Ketut Suarsana, live, had the opportunity to talk on Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) in the "Tanjungpinang Pagi Ini" dialogue program. The dialogue take a theme: "Agricultural Census Optimizing Farmers' Welfare". He is going through with Mr. Agus Widyasmiko as the Head of the Food Crops and Hosticulture Division of DKPP Bintan and Aryo Wishnu as the host of the event.

In the talk, Mr. Ketut conveyed several important points related to the implementation of the 2023 Agricultural Census field which will soon be carried out simultaneously throughout Indonesia starting June 1, 2023. The enumeration was carried out door to door at the smallest Local Environment Unit (SLS) or RT for SLS with a large number of farming households or concentrated SLS. Meanwhile for non-concentration SLS, officers will collect data by snow ball method or looking for information in the local environment.
Mr Ketut also said that ST 2023 would produce information including a directory of agricultural business actors by name by address; geospatial agricultural statistics; agricultural potential down to the village level; farmer organizational structure; and the amount of agricultural land by use. The activities covered are business activities in the agricultural sector, so that the volume and value of production is very much needed. Mr. Ketut also said that ST 2023 has advantages compared to previous years where in ST 2023 a number that has international comparability will be obtained because it refers to the WCA _(World Program of The Census of Agricultural)_ from FAO. Then, apart from the agricultural structure and smallholders, ST 2023 will also produce small-scale farmers; using geospatial with geotagging; and can identify the use of technology, management, and institutions in agricultural business.
The government through the Bintan Food and Agriculture Security Service (DKPP) also expressed its support for the 2023 Agricultural Census. "Good data supports planning so that activities are successful, we hope that this goal will be effective with the right data," said Mr. Agus. Through interactive telephone dialogues, farmers also give full support to the implementation of the 2023 Agricultural Census so that the data obtained can be used as a benchmark for agricultural policy in the Riau Archipelago.
The 2023 Agricultural Census is the hope of farmers in improving the lives of farmers in the future. Related to this, in order to produce valid data, Mr. Ketut also did not forget to urge agricultural business actors to give honest and candid answers.
