Inflation Rate of Kepulauan Riau in 2018 was 0.88 percent

Abstract

• In January, combined inflation of 2 CPI’s cities (Batam and Tanjungpinang) in Kepulauan Riau Province rose 0,88 percent, with CPI recorded at 133,08. Inflation Year On Year rose 4,19 percent (January 2018 against January 2017). Inflations in Batam rose 0,99 percent while in Tanjungpinang deflation recorded at 0,18 percent.

• The main contributors to the rise of Combined Inflation of two CPI’s cities in Kepulauan Riau is caused by the increase of five index groups, they are foodstuff group by 3,63 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group at 0,58 percent; Clothing group by 0,52 percent; health group by 0,17 percent; the education, recreation and sports groups had a decline in index by 0,65 percent. In contrary, finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0,24 percent; as well as the transport, communication and financial services group by 0,74 percent.
