Abstract

• In February, 2018 combined CPI of two cities (Batam and Tanjungpinang) in Kepulauan Riau Province experiences decrease 0,03 percent, recorded at 133,04. Inflation through the year (January to February 2018) rose 0,84 percent and Year On Year inflation rose 3,99 percent (February 2018 against February 2017). Batam deflation recorded at 0,06 percent while in Tanjungpinang Inflations recorded at 0,15 percent.

• The main contributors to the rise of Combined Deflation of two CPI’s cities in Kepulauan Riau is caused by the decreases of two index groups, they are foodstuff group by 2,55 percent; education, recreation and sports groups had a decline in index by 0,10 percent. In contrast, the increases of five index groups,

they are finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 1,23 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group at 1,26 percent; Clothing group by 0,41 percent; health group by 0,41 percent; and as well as the transport, communication and

financial services group by 0,09 percent.
