Abstract

• In March 2018, combined CPI of two cities (Batam and Tanjungpinang) in Kepulauan Riau Province experiences increase 0,21 percent, recorded at 133,31. Inflation through the year (January to March 2018) rose 1,05 percent and

Year On Year inflation rose 5,05 percent (March 2018 against March 2017). Batam inflations recorded at 0,27 percent while in Tanjungpinang deflation recorded at 0,18 percent.

• The main contributors to the rise of Combined Inflation of two CPI’s cities in Kepulauan Riau is caused by the increase of five index groups. There are foodstuff group by 0,94 percent; finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0,19 percent; clothing group by 0,15 percent; health group by 0,29 percent; and education, recreation and sports groups index by 0.03 percent. in contrary, two index groups have decrease, they are housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group at 0,11 percent; as well as the transport, communication and financial services group by 0.10 percent.
