Abstract

Kepulauan Riau Province work force in August 2019 was 1,005,161 people. There are 935,682 people working in Kepulauan Riau Province in August 2019. The Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) in Kepulauan Riau Province in August 2019 reached 6.91 percent, a decrease when compared to the OUR in August 2018 of 7.12 percent. Judging from the level of education, OUR for Vocational High Schools (VHS) still dominates among other education levels at 9.65 percent.

During the past year (August 2018 - August 2019), the number of employed people experienced an increase in the Provision of Accommodation and Food and Beverage sectors (2.13 points). In August 2019, the population working with general high school education dominated as many as 284,595 people (30.42 percent), while the population working with elementary school education was 196,970 people (21.05 percent) and the population working with vocational high school education was 169,233 people (18.09 percent).
