Economy of Kepulauan Riau Province the Second Quarter of 2020 got contraction of -6.66 percent (y-on-y)

Economy of Kepulauan Riau Province in second quarter of 2020 measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on current prices (ADHB) reached Rp 60.29 trillion and on the basis of constant prices (ADHK) reaching Rp 41.79 trillion.

Economic growth of Kepulauan Riau Province in second quarter of 2020 (y-on-y) experienced a contraction of -6.66 percent. The category that experienced the highest contraction was the Other Services Category by -96.11 percent. In terms of expenditure, the Government Consumption Expenditure Component experienced the highest contraction of -15.45 percent.

The economy of Kepulauan Riau Province in second quarter of 2020 compared to the first quarter of 2020 (q-to-q) experienced a contraction of -7.55 percent. From the production side, the category that experienced the highest contraction was the Other Services Category -94.10 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the Gross Fixed Capital Formation Component experienced a contraction of -7.00 percent.

Until the second quarter of 2020, cumulatively (c-to-c) the economic growth of Kepulauan Riau grew minus 2.32 percent compared to the same period the previous year. Within the regional scope, GDRP of Kepulauan Riau Province in quarter II-2020 contributed 7.43 percent to the GRDP of Sumatra Island.
