Abstract

The economy of the Kepulauan Riau in quarter III-2020 as measured by Gross Domestic Regional Product (GDRP) at current prices (ADHB) reached IDR 62.90 trillion and at constant prices (ADHK) reached IDR 43.14 trillion.
Economy of Kepulauan Riau in the third quarter of 2020 (y-on-y) contracted by -5.81 percent. In terms of business sector, the economic contraction was mainly caused by the wholesale trade category and Retail and Car and Motorcycle Repair with a contraction share of -1.83 percent, followed by construction with a share of -1.59 percent. From the expenditure side, the components that provide the largest contraction contributed to Net Exports by -3.97 percent and PMTB with a share of -2.17 percent.
Kepulauan Riau economy in quarter III-2020 compared to quarter II-2020 (q-to-q) grew by 3.23 percent. From the production side, the category that contributed the largest growth is the Processing Industry category 1.73 percent and the Mining and Quarry category 0.58 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the PMTB component contributed the largest namely 1.58 percent followed by Government Consumption Expenditure with a share of 0.93 percent.
In quarter III-2020, cumulative (c-to-c) economic growth in Kepulauan Riau grew minus 3.51 percent compared to the same period the previous year.
In the regional scope, GDRP of Kepulauan Riau in the third quarter of 2020 contributed 7.32 percent to the GRDP of Sumatra Island.
