Abstract

Human development in the Kepulauan Riau Province in 2020 continues to progress which is marked by the continuing increase in the Kepulauan Riau Human Development Index (HDI). In 2020, the HDI of the Kepulauan Riau Province has reached 75.59. This figure increased by 0.11 points compared to the HDI of the Kepulauan Riau Province in 2019 which was 75.48.
In 2020, human development in the Kepulauan Riau will have a “high” status, the same as that in 2019. Kepulauan Riau HDI in 2020 will grow by 0.15 percent compared to 2019.
The HDI component has also increased. Newborns had the chance to live up to 69.96 years, an increase of 0.16 years compared to the previous year. Children aged 7 years have the opportunity to attend school for 12.87 years, an increase of 0.04 years compared to 2019. On average, people aged 25 years and over have studied for 10.12 years, an increase of 0.13 years compared to the previous year . However, adjusted per capita expenditure in 2020 was IDR 14.209 million, a decrease of IDR 257 thousand compared to the previous year.
