Economy of Kepulauan Riau Province the Third Quarter of 2021 grew 2.97 percent (y-on-y)

The economy of Kepulauan Riau in the third quarter of 2021 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices (ADHB) reached Rp. 67.90 trillion and at constant prices (ADHK) reached Rp. 44.40 trillion.

The economy of Kepulauan Riau in quarter III-2021 (y-on-y) grew by 2.97 percent. From the business sector side, this quarter's growth was driven by the Manufacturing Industry category which contributed to growth of 1.59 percent and the Construction Category with a growth share of 1.57 percent. From the expenditure side, the components that contributed to the largest growth were PMTB at 1.73 percent and PK-LNPRT with a share of 0.02 percent.

The economy of Kepulauan Riau in the third quarter of 2021 compared to the second quarter of 2021 (q-to-q) experienced a contraction of 0.39 percent. In terms of production, the category of Government Administration, Defense and Mandatory Social Security with the largest contraction contribution was 0.68 percent, followed by the Transportation and Warehousing category with a contraction share of 0.33 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the Government Consumption Expenditure component contributed the largest to the contraction, namely 1.50 percent; followed by Household Consumption Expenditure with a contraction contribution of 1.42 percent.

Until the third quarter of 2021, cumulatively (c-to-c) the economic growth of Kepulauan Riau grew by 2.79 percent compared to the same period the previous year.

In the regional scope, the GRDP of Kepulauan Riau in the third quarter of 2021 contributed 7.22 percent to the GRDP of the island of Sumatra.
