Abstract

In March 2022, the level of inequality in the expenditure of the Kepulauan Riau Province population as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.342. This figure increased by 0.003 points compared to the September 2021 Gini Ratio of 0.339.

The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2022 was recorded at 0.342, an increase of 0.005 points compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.337.

The Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2022 was recorded at 0.247, down 0.006 points compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.253.

During the period September 2021-March 2022, the distribution of expenditure from the bottom 40 percent of the population indicates an increase, from 19.27 percent in September 2021 to 20.02 percent in March 2022.

By region, the distribution of expenditures for the bottom 40 percent of the group in urban areas in the period September 2021-March 2022 increased from 19.29 percent in September 2021 to 19.94 percent in March 2022. Similar conditions also occurred in rural areas, where the distribution of expenditures for the bottom 40 percent of the population increased from 23.83 percent to 24.82 percent in that period.
