Abstract

In September 2022, the level of expenditure inequality of the Kepulauan Riau population as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.325. This figure decreased by 0.017 points compared to the March 2022 Gini Ratio of 0.342.

The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2022 was recorded at 0.328, a decrease of 0.014 points compared to the March 2022 Gini Ratio of 0.342.

The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2022 was recorded at 0.264, an increase of 0.017 points compared to the March 2022 Gini Ratio of 0.247.

During the March 2022-September 2022 period, the expenditure distribution of the bottom 40 percent of the population indicated an increase, from 20.02 percent in March 2022 to 20.53 percent in September 2022.

By region, the expenditure distribution of the bottom 40 percent in urban areas in the March 2022-September 2022 period increased from 19.94 percent in March 2022 to 20.39 percent in September 2022. Different conditions occurred in rural areas, where the expenditure distribution of the bottom 40 percent of the population decreased from 24.82 percent to 23.02 percent in that period.
