Abstract

The Gender Inequality Index (GII) of Kepulauan Riau Province in 2023 amounted to 0.348, a decrease of 0.047 points compared to 2022 which amounted to 0.395.

The improvement in the Kepulauan Riau Province Gender Inequality Index (GII) was mainly influenced by improvements in the equality of several constituent indicators.

The proportion of women aged 15-49 years who gave birth alive not in a health facility (MTF) fell from 0.057 in 2022 to 0.030 in 2023.

The percentage of women 25 years and older with a senior high school education increased from 58.40 percent in 2022 to 60.24 percent in 2023, while the percentage of men decreased from 60.73 percent in 2022 to 58.08 percent in 2023.

The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) for women rose from 50.68 percent in 2022 to 51.95 percent in 2023, while the TPAK for men fell from 86.44 percent in 2022 to 84.92 percent in 2023.
