Abstract

In June 2024, Kepulauan Riau Province experienced the year on year (y-on-y) inflation rate was 3.54 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.69. The highest inflation was seen in Batam City at 3.71 percent with a CPI of 106.94, while the lowest was seen in Karimun Regency at 2.79 percent with a CPI of 106.08. Meanwhile Tanjungpinang City inflation rate was 2.97 percent with a CPI of 105.53.

Inflation Kepulauan Riau Province occurred as the prices went up, as indicated by the increase in eight expenditure groups indices, namely: Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Group of 6.48 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group of 3.26 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group of 0.90 percent; Health Group of 3.45 percent; Transport Group of 4.04 percent; Education Group of 2.49 percent; Food and Beverage Serving Services/Restaurant Group of 1.86 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 6.66 percent. Meanwhile, three expenditure groups experienced a decline in the index, namely: Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group of 0.41 percent; Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group of 0.05 percent; and Recreation, Sport, and Culture Group of 0.09 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate Kepulauan Riau Province in June 2024 was 0.28 percent, Inflation occurred due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 106.39 in May 2024 to 106.69 in June 2024. Besides the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 1.46 percent.
