The Result of Long Form Population Census 2020 Kepulauan Riau Province

KEPULAUAN RIAU as one of the centers of economy and trade in Indonesia is a very strong attraction for migrants so it easily changes the composition of the population. These population changes will indirectly affect the map and direction of development in Riau Islands Province. Development policies and directions are strongly influenced by the characteristics of the population of an area.With the right strategy, the population can become the strength of the nation for Advanced Indonesia. To realize the ideals of an advanced Indonesia, exactly one decade of Indonesia's demographic bonus, BPS strives to complete the mandate to carry out the SP2020 Long Form with various challenges amid the COVID-19 pandemic. With the permission of God Almighty and the hard work of all parties, the Long Form SP2020 field data collection has been completed.Long Form SP2020 carries a big mission as a population indicator benchmark, a demographic portrait of Indonesia after passing the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, an evaluation of development achievements in the population sector in the SDGs and RPJMD, and a basis for determining Indonesia's development policies towards the Golden Indonesia 2045.Although the SP2020 Long Form was implemented during a pandemic, there were several innovations implemented, one of which was the use of data collection modes (PAPI, CAPI, CATI, and CAWI). For the first time, Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) was applied for the first time in the history of population censuses in Indonesia.The implementation journey and results of the SP2020 Long Form are summarized in the booklet Population Indicators of SP2020 Long Form Results. This booklet presents a comprehensive picture of Indonesia's population situation based on the SP2020 Long Form results. The basic data coverage of the SP2020 Long Form results are indicators of fertility, mortality, mobility, employment, disability, education, and housing. The provision of demographic parameters and population characteristics is expected to produce indicators to monitor and evaluate the achievement of SDGs and RPJMN targets in the population sector.
