Abstract

• In December, combined inflation of 2 CPI’s cities (Batam and Tanjungpinang) in Kepulauan Riau Province rose 0,73 percent, with CPI recorded at 131,92. Inflation through the year (January to December 2017) rose 4,02 percent and Year On Year inflation rose 4,02 percent (December 2017 against December 2016). Inflations in Batam rose 0,72 percent while in Tanjungpinang deflation recorded at 0,84 percent.

• The main contributors to the rise of Combined Inflation of two CPI’s cities in Kepulauan Riau is caused by the increases of six index groups, they are foodstuff group by 2,16 percent; finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0,24 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group at 0,05 percent; Clothing group by 0,54 percent; health group by 0,23 percent; as well as the transport, communication and financial services group by 0,83 percent. In contrast, only the education, recreation and sports groups had a decline in index by 0,02 percent.
