Abstract

• The number of foreign tourists visiting Kepulauan Riau Province in December 2017 reached 261.525 visits. It is increased 55,57 percent compared to previous month, where the number of foreign tourists in November 2017 recorded 168.113 visits. Compared with December 2016, foreign tourists in December 2017 was increased 23,52 percent.

• Foreign tourists who visited Kepulauan Riau Province in January to December 2017 was dominated by Singaporean tourists with a percentage of 51,17 percent of the total number of foreign tourists in January-December 2017.

• Cumulatively, from January to December 2017, the number of foreign tourists visiting Kepulauan Riau Province reached 2.074.534 visits or increase 8,04 percent compared to the number of foreign tourists visiting in the same period of the previous year which amounted to 1.920.232 visits.

• Room Occupancy Rate (ROR) of star-rated hotels in Kepulauan Riau Province in December 2017 in average reached 59,91 percent, or increase 1,56 points compared to November 2017 at 58,35 percent.

• The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests at star-rated hotels in Kepulauan Riau Province in December 2017 is 1,78 days, or decrease 0,13 points compared to the average length of stay of guests in November 2017.
