Abstract

In October 2019, Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Kepulauan Riau Province (Batam City and Tanjungpinang City) showed deflation of 0.27 percent. Deflation occurred due to a decrease in the CPI from 137.95 in September 2019 to 137.57 in October 2019. Inflation in the calendar year (January to October 2019) was 0.78 percent. Year-on-year inflation (October 2019 against October 2018) was 2.38 percent. From 2 CPI cities in Kepulauan Riau Province, it is recorded that Batam City and Tanjungpinang City experienced deflation of 0.27 percent and 0.27 percent respectively.
