Gini Ratio of Kepulauan Riau Province in September 2019 reached 0.337

Abstract

In September 2019, the inequality level of Kepulauan Riau population expenditure as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.337. This figure is down by 0.004 points compared to the March 2019 Gini Ratio of 0.341.

The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2019 was 0.335, down 0.003 points compared to the March 2019 Gini Ratio of 0.338. While the Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2019 also decreased when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2019, from 0.265 to 0.262.

During the March 2019-September 2019 period, the distribution of expenditure from the lowest 40 percent population group indicated an increase, from 18.87 percent in March 2019 to 19.96 percent in September 2019.

In urban areas, the distribution of the lowest 40 percent group expenditure in the period March 2019-September 2019 increased, from 19 percent in March 2019 to 19.72 percent in September 2019. The same is true in rural areas, where the distribution of the lowest 40 percent population expenditure increased from 23.09 percent to 23.82 percent in the same period.
