Abstract

Human development in the Kepulauan Riau Province in 2019 continues to experience progress marked by the continued increase in Kepulauan Riau’s Human Development Index (HDI). In 2019, Kepulauan Riau Province HDI reached 75.48. This figure increased by 0.64 points compared to HDI of Kepulauan Riau Province in 2018 which amounted to 74.84.

In 2019, human development in Kepulauan Riau has a "high" status, the same as in 2018. Kepulauan Riau HDI in 2019 grew by 0.64 percent compared to 2018.

The HDI component also experienced an increase. Newborns have the opportunity to live up to 69.80 years, an increase of 0.16 years compared to the previous year. Children aged 7 years have the opportunity to attend school for 12.83 years, an increase of 0.01 years compared to 2018. The population aged 25 years and over has an average of 9.99 years of education, an increase of 0.18 years compared previous year. The adjusted per capita expenditure has reached 14.466 million rupiah in 2019, an increase of 490 thousand rupiah compared to the previous year.
