Abstract

The number of foreign tourists or tourists visiting Kepulauan Riau Province in January 2020 reached 220,696 visits, a decrease of 20.30 percent compared to the number of foreign tourists in the previous month, where the number of foreign tourists in December 2019 was 276,914 visits. Meanwhile, when compared with January 2019, the number of tourist arrivals in January 2020 increased by 14.44 percent. Tourists visiting Kepulauan Riau Province in January 2020 were dominated by Singaporean foreign tourists with a percentage of 45.12 percent of the total number of foreign tourists in January 2020. The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of starred hotels in Kepulauan Riau Province in January 2020 reached an average of 46.69 percent or down 10.18 points compared to the ROR of December 2019 of 56.67 percent. The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests at star-rated hotels in Kepulauan Riau Province in January 2020 was 2.04 days, up 0.27 points compared to the average length of stay of guests in December 2019.
