Gini Ratio of Kepulauan Riau Province in September reached 0.334

Abstract

In September 2020, the level of expenditure inequality of the Kepulauan Riau as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.334. This figure is down by 0.005 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2020 which was 0.339.

The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2020 was 0.335, down 0.002 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2020 which was 0.337. Meanwhile, the Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2020 did not change compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2020, which was still 0.260.

During the period March 2020-September 2020, the distribution of expenditures of the bottom 40 percent of the population indicated an increase, from 19.26 percent in March 2020 to 20.20 percent in September 2020.

In urban areas, the distribution of expenditure for the lowest 40 percent group in the period March 2020-September 2020 has increased, from 19.34 percent in March 2020 to 20.21 percent in September 2020. The same is the case in rural areas, where the distribution of population expenditure is 40 the lowest percent increased from 23.76 percent to 24.12 percent in the same period.
