Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) in 2022 has increased compared to 2021. HDI of Kepulauan Riau Province in 2022 reached 76.46, an increase of 0.67 points or grew 0.88 percent compared to the achievement in 2021.
The increase in the 2022 HDI is supported by an increase in the three constituent dimensions, namely the dimensions of longevity and healthy life as measured by Life Expectancy at Birth (UHH), the knowledge dimension as measured by School Year Expectations (HLS) and Average Length of Schooling (RLS), and the dimension of a decent standard of living as measured by the adjusted average per capita real expenditure per year.
In terms of the dimensions of longevity and healthy living, the UHH at birth in Kepulauan Riau Province is 70.50, meaning that babies born in 2022 have the hope of living up to 70.50 years, 0.38 years longer than babies born in 2021.
In terms of the knowledge dimension, the HLS in Kepulauan Riau Province is 12.99, meaning that the population aged 7 years in 2022 has the hope of enjoying 12.99 years of education or almost equivalent to the length of time to complete education up to Diploma I level. This figure is increasing 0.01 years compared to 2021. In addition, the RLS in Kepulauan Riau Province is 10.37, meaning that the average length of schooling for residents aged 25 years and over in 2022 increases by 0.19 years compared to 2021.
In terms of the dimensions of a decent standard of living, the real expenditure per capita per year adjusted in Kepulauan Riau Province is Rp. 14,469,000, an increase of 347,000 compared to 2021.
