Economic growth of Kepulauan Riau Province in the Second Quarter of 2023

Abstract

Economic of Kepulauan Riau Province in the second quarter of 2023 as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices (ADHB) reached Rp81.50 trillion and at constant prices (ADHK) reached Rp49.16 trillion.

Economic of Kepulauan Riau Province in the second quarter of 2023 (y-on-y) grew by 5.04 percent. In terms of business fields, growth in this quarter was driven by the Construction category which had a growth share of 1.84 percent and the Information and Communication category which contributed 1.40 percent to growth. In terms of expenditure, the PMTB component had a growth share of 3.03 percent and the PK-RT component with a share of 1.41 percent.

Economic of Kepulauan Riau Province in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the first quarter of 2023 (q-to-q) grew by 0.72 percent. From the production side, economic growth was mainly due to the Mining and Quarrying category with the largest growth share of 2.23 percent, followed by the Government Administration, Defense and Compulsory Social Security category with a growth share of 1.04 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the PK-P component provided the largest growth share of 1.87 percent, followed by the PKRT component with a share of 0.57 percent.

Until the second quarter of 2023, cumulatively (c-to-c) Kepulauan Riau Province economic growth grew by 5.77 percent compared to the same period the previous year.

In the regional scope, the Kepulauan Riau Province GRDP in the second quarter of 2023 contributed 7.30 percent to the GRDP of Sumatra Island.
