Abstract

Kepulauan Riau Province economy in the second quarter of 2024 as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices (ADHB) reached Rp86.76 trillion and at constant prices (ADHK) reached Rp51.57 trillion.

Kepulauan Riau Province economy in the second quarter of 2024 (y-on-y) grew by 4.90 percent. In terms of business fields, growth in this quarter was driven by the Processing Industry category which had a growth share of 5.16 percent and the Construction category which contributed 1.40 percent growth. In terms of expenditure, the PMTB component had a growth share of 3.41 percent and the PK-RT component with a share of 2.08 percent.

Kepulauan Riau Province economy in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the first quarter of 2024 (q-to-q) grew by 0.62 percent. From the production side, economic growth was mainly due to the Government Administration, Defense and Compulsory Social Security category with the largest growth share of 0.98 percent, followed by the Wholesale and Retail Trade, Car and Motorcycle Repair category with a growth share of 0.54 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the PK-P component contributed the largest growth of 1.69 percent, followed by the PK-RT component with a share of 0.69 percent.

Until the second quarter of 2024, cumulatively (c-to-c) Kepulauan Riau economic growth grew by 4.96 percent compared to the same period the previous year.

In the regional scope, GRDP of Kepulauan Riau Province in the second quarter of 2024 contributed 7.15 percent to the GRDP of Sumatra Island.
