Abstract

The Kepulauan Riau Provinces economy in the first quarter of 2024 as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices (ADHB) reached Rp85.60 trillion and at constant prices (ADHK) reached Rp51.25 trillion.

The Kepulauan Riau Provinces economy in the first quarter of 2024 (y-on-y) grew by 5.01 percent. In terms of business fields, growth in this quarter was driven by the Construction Category which had a growth share of 2.53 percent and the Processing Industry Category which contributed 1.65 percent growth. From the expenditure side, the PMTB component had a growth share of 3.35 percent and the PK-RT component with a share of 1.92 percent.

The Kepulauan Riau Provinces economy in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the fourth quarter of 2023 (q-to-q) contracted by 2.79 percent. From the production side, the economic contraction was mainly caused by the Construction Category with a contraction share of 1.79 percent, followed by the Mining and Quarrying Category with a contraction share of 0.66 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, it was caused by the Net Export Component with the largest contraction share of 8.53 percent, followed by the PK-P Component with a contraction share of 4.25 percent.

In the regional scope, the Kepulauan Riau Provinces GRDP in the first quarter of 2024 contributed 7.41 percent to the GRDP of Sumatera Island.
