Abstract

In April 2024, Kepulauan Riau Province experienced inflation of year on year (y-on-y) of 3.04 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.00. of 106.00. The highest inflation occurred in Batam City at 3.25 percent with a CPI of 106.22 and the lowest in Karimun Regency. with a CPI of 106.22 and the lowest occurred in Karimun Regency by 2.06 percent with a CPI of 105.43. While Tanjungpinang City inflation of 2.48 percent with a CPI of 105.02.

Y-on-y inflation in Kepulauan Riau Province occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in eight increase in prices as indicated by the increase in eight indexes of expenditure groups, namely: food, beverage expenditure group indexes, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group rose by 5.53 percent; the clothing and footwear group experienced an increase of 3.83 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group rose by 0.94 percent; the health group increased by 3.47 percent; the transportation group increased by 2.82 percent; the education group increased by 2.49 percent; the food and beverage/restaurant supply group rose by 1.76 percent; and the personal care and other services group rose by 5.34 percent. While the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index, namely: group supplies, equipment and routine maintenance of households fell by 0.04 percent; the information, communication, and financial services group decreased by 0.03 percent; and the recreation, sports and culture group fell by 0.29 percent.

Month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate of Kepulauan Riau Province in April 2024 amounted to 0.06 percent, inflation occurred due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 105.94 in March
