Abstract

The increase in the 2024 Kepulauan Riau HDI is supported by an increase in the three dimensions that make up it, namely the longevity and healthy living dimension as measured by Life Expectancy at Birth (UHH), the knowledge dimension as measured by Expected Years of Schooling (HLS) and Average Years of Schooling (RLS), and the decent standard of living dimension as measured by the average adjusted real expenditure per capita per year.
In terms of the dimension of longevity and healthy living, UHH at Birth in Kepulauan Riau is 75.12, meaning that babies born in 2024 have the expectation to live up to 75.12 years, 0.22 years longer or an increase of 0.29 percent compared to babies born in 2023. The source of data on life expectancy at birth uses the results of the Long Form SP2020 (LF SP2020).
In the knowledge dimension, the Kepulauan Riau HLS is 13.27, meaning that the population aged 7 years and over in 2024 has the hope of enjoying education for 13.27 years or almost equivalent to the length of time to complete education to the first year of college. This figure increased by 0.22 years or grew 1.69 percent compared to 2023. In addition, the Kepulauan Riau RLS is 10.50, meaning that the number of years of learning for the population aged 25 years and over that has been completed in formal education is 10.50 years or comparable to high school / equivalent in class X to class XI. This RLS increased by 0.09 years or grew 0.86 percent compared to 2023. The data source for HLS and RLS uses the results of the March Susenas.
The dimension of a decent standard of living as measured by adjusted real expenditure per capita per adjusted year in Kepulauan Riau in 2024 amounted to Rp. 15,573,000, an increase of Rp. 575,000 or grew 3.83 percent compared to 2023. The data source for real expenditure per capita adjusted per year uses the results of the March Susenas.
