Abstract

In September 2024, the level of inequality in the expenditure of the Riau Islands population as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.357. This figure increased by 0.008 points compared to the March 2024 Gini Ratio of 0.349.
The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.360, up 0.009 points compared to the March 2024 Gini Ratio of 0.351.
The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.236, down 0.004 points compared to the March 2024 Gini Ratio of 0.240.
During the period March 2024–September 2024, the distribution of expenditure from the bottom 40 percent of the population group indicated a decline, namely from 19.86 percent in March 2024 to 19.75 percent in September 2024.
Based on region, the distribution of expenditure of the bottom 40 percent group in urban areas in the period March 2024–September 2024 decreased, namely from 19.68 percent in March 2024 to 19.54 percent in September 2024. The same condition occurred in rural areas, where the distribution of expenditure of the bottom 40 percent of the population also decreased from 24.74 percent in March 2024 to 24.52 percent in September 2024
