Development of Kepulauan Riau Province Air and Sea Transportation March 2020

The number of domestic air transport passengers in March 2020 departing from Kepulauan Riau Province was 171,750 people or decreased by 7.23 percent from February 2020. In March 2020 there was a decrease in the number of international air transport passengers departing, totaling 451 people or a decrease of 64.15 percent from the previous month.

In March 2020, the number of loading of baggage and domestic air transport goods decreased by 7.68 percent from 1,864.59 tons in February 2020 to 1,721.34 tons in March 2020. Meanwhile, for international air transportation, during March 2020 baggage and goods loaded reached 2.39 tons, decreased 58.30 percent when compared with the previous month.

During March 2020 there were 292,793 people embarking domestically from ports in Kepulauan Riau. The number of domestic passenger embarkations decreased by 14.38 percent compared to February 2020 which reached 341,961 people. Meanwhile, the number of embarkation passengers in March 2020 reached 158,369 people, down 39.18 percent compared to February 2020.

The amount of loading of international sea freight in March 2020 increased from 10.21 percent the previous month, from 1,836,010.81 tons to 2,023,407.78 tons.
