Abstract

The number of foreign tourist arrivals or tourists to Kepulauan Riau Province during May 2020 recorded 1,798 visits. This means an increase of 57.86 percent compared to the previous month, where in April 2020 there were 1,139 visits. Meanwhile, when compared with May 2019, there was a decrease of 99.20 percent.

Tourists visiting Kepulauan Riau Province in January to May 2020 were dominated by Singaporean tourists reaching 45.86 percent of the number of foreign tourists from January to May 2020.

Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of starred hotels in Kepulauan Riau Province in May 2020 was only an average of 9.91 percent, down 1.46 points compared to the April 2020 TPK which was recorded at 11.37 percent.

The average length of stay of foreign and Indonesian guests at star-rated hotels in Kepulauan Riau Province in May 2020 was 2.22 days, down 0.18 points compared to April 2020.
