Abstract

Economy of Kepulauan Riau in 2020 cumulatively (c-to-c) experienced a contraction of 3.80 percent, after being able to grow in 2019 by 4.84 percent.
Economic growth of Kepulauan Riau in the fourth quarter of 2020 (y-on-y) also contracted by 4.46 percent. From the production side, the economic contraction was mainly caused by the Construction category with a contraction of 1.80 percent. In terms of expenditure, the component of Gross Fixed Capital Formation contributed to the largest contraction, namely 4.07 percent.
Economy of Kepulauan Riau in quarter IV-2020 compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q) grew by 4.53 percent. From the production side, the categories that contributed the most to the growth were the Construction category with 1.35 percent share and the Manufacturing Industry category with 1.31 percent. From the expenditure side, which had the largest share of economic growth was Government Consumption by 1.08 percent.
In regional terms, the GRDP of Kepulauan Riau in the fourth quarter of 2020 contributed 7.67 percent to the GRDP of Sumatra Island.
