Abstract

In September 2021, the level of inequality in the expenditure of Kepulauan Riau population as measured by the Gini Ratio is 0.339. This figure decreased by 0.004 points compared to the March 2021 Gini Ratio of 0.343.
The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2021 was recorded at 0.337, down 0.004 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.341.
The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2021 was recorded at 0.253, a decrease of 0.003 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.256.
During the period March 2021-September 2021, the distribution of spending from the bottom 40 percent of the population indicates an increase, from 19.09 percent in March 2021 to 19.27 percent in September 2021.
By region, the distribution of expenditure for the bottom 40 percent of the group in urban areas in the period March 2021-September 2021 has increased from 19.07 percent in March 2021 to 19.29 percent in September 2021. Different conditions occur in rural areas, where the distribution of spending the bottom 40 percent of the population decreased from 23.89 percent to 23.83 percent in that period.
