Abstract

In November 2022, Kepulauan Riau Province (Batam City and Tanjungpinang City) experienced year-on-year (YoY) inflation of 5.26 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 112.05. Inflation occurred due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 106.45 in November 2021 to 112.05 in November 2022.
Inflation that occurred in the Riau Archipelago occurred due to price increases as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group increased by 4.89 percent; the clothing and footwear group experienced an increase of 2.12 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group increased by 2.05 percent; the equipment, tools and household routine maintenance group increased by 5.26 percent; the health group increased by 0.16 percent; the transportation group increased by 17.46 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group increased by 2.38 percent; the education group increased by 2.77 percent; the food and beverage/restaurant provision group increased by 5.34 percent; as well as the personal care and other services group rose by 5.63 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication and financial services group experienced a decrease of 0.37 percent.
The November 2022 month-to-month (MtM) deflation rate is 0.20 percent and the November 2022 year-to-date (ytd) inflation rate is 4.67 percent.
Of the 2 CPI cities in the Riau Archipelago Province, it was recorded that Batam City experienced year-on-year (YoY) inflation of 5.37 percent, and Tanjungpinang City of 4.50 percent.
