Abstract

The Kepulauan Riau Human Development Index (HDI) in 2023 reached 79.08, an increase of 0.6 points (0.76 percent) compared to the previous year (78.48).

During 2020-2023, the Kepulauan Riau HDI increased by an average of 0.59 percent per year.

The increase in the Kepulauan Riau HDI 2023 was supported by an increase in the three dimensions that make up it, namely the longevity and healthy living dimension as measured by Life Expectancy at Birth (UHH), the knowledge dimension as measured by Expected Years of Schooling (HLS) and Average Years of Schooling (RLS), and the decent standard of living dimension as measured by the average adjusted real expenditure per capita per year.

In terms of the dimension of longevity and healthy living, UHH at Birth in Kepulauan Riau is 74.90, meaning that babies born in 2023 have the expectation to live up to 74.90 years, 0.28 years longer or an increase of 0.38 percent compared to babies born in 2022. The data source for life expectancy at birth uses the results of the Long Form SP2020 (LF SP2020).
