The CPI of Kepulauan Riau Province showed defflation of 0.5 percent

In August 2022, Kepulauan Riau Province CPI (Batam City and Tanjungpinang City) showed a deflation of 0.50 percent. Inflation occurred due to a decrease in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 111.74 in July 2022 to 111.18 in August 2022. Inflation for the calendar year (January–August) 2022 was 3.86 percent. Year-on-year inflation (August 2022 versus August 2021) is 6.00 percent. Of the 2 CPI cities in Kepulauan Riau Province, Batam City experienced a deflation of 0.50 percent, and Tanjungpinang City experienced a deflation of 0.54 percent.
In August 2022, the NTP of Kepulauan Riau Province was recorded at 108.49 or decreased by 1.34 percent compared to the NTP in July 2022.
The number of foreign tourists (tourists) to Kepulauan Riau Province during July 2022 was recorded at 80,215 visits or an increase of 39.58 percent compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, when compared to July 2021, there was an increase of 49,722.98 percent.
The number of domestic air transport passengers departing from Kepulauan Riau Province in July 2022 was 175,244 people, a decrease of 0.42 percent compared to June 2022. A total of 1,281 international air transport passengers departed from Kepulauan Riau Province in July 2022.
The number of domestic sea transport passengers who departed in July 2022 was recorded at 380,346 people, an increase of 15.71 percent compared to June 2022 which reached 328,711 people. Meanwhile, the number of international sea transport passengers departing in July 2022 was 180,617 people, an increase of 27.11 percent compared to June 2022.
