Economic growth of Kepulauan Riau Province in the second quarter of 2022

Abstract

The economy of Kepulauan Riau, the price for the second quarter of 2022 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on a valid basis (ADHB) reached Rp75.83 trillion and at constant prices (ADHK) reached Rp46.80 trillion.
Kepulauan Riau economy in the second quarter of 2022 (y-on-y) grew by 5.01 percent. In terms of business field, growth in this quarter was appreciated by the Wholesale and Retail Trade categories; Car and Motorcycle Repair, which contributed to the growth of 1.67 percent and the Mining and Quarrying category which contributed to the growth of 1.10 percent. From the expenditure side, the Net Export Component contributed 2.41 percent to growth and the PK-RT Component contributed 1.93 percent.
The economy of Kepulauan Riau in the second quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2022 (q-to-q) grew by 2.13 percent. From the production side, economic growth was mainly due to the categories of Government Administration, Defense and Mandatory Social Security with a share of 1.15 percent, followed by the Wholesale and Retail Trade categories; Repair of Cars and Motorcycles which contributed to the growth of 1.01 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the Government Consumption Expenditure component provided the largest growth at 2.03 percent, followed by the PK-RT component with a share of 1.58 percent.
Until semester 1-2022, Kepulauan Riau economic growth was 3.92 percent compared to the same period the previous year.
In the regional scope, the GRDP of Kepulauan Riau in the second quarter of 2022 contributed 7.27 percent to the GRDP of the island of Sumatra.
