Economic growth of Kepulauan Riau Province in the fourth quarter of 2021

Abstract

The economy of Kepulauan Riau in the fourth quarter of 2021 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices (ADHB) reached Rp73.08 trillion and at constant prices (ADHK) reached Rp47.44 trillion.
Kepulauan Riau economy in 2021 cumulatively (c-to-c) grew by 3.43 percent, after experiencing a contraction of 3.80 percent in 2020.
Riau Islands economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2021 (y-on-y) grew by 5.27 percent. In terms of the business field, economic growth was caused by the Wholesale and Retail Trade, Car and Motorcycle Repair categories with a share of 1.07 percent. In terms of expenditure, the components that contributed to the largest growth were Net Exports at 3.94 percent and PMTB with a share of 0.72 percent.
The economy of Kepulauan Riau in the fourth quarter of 2021 compared to the third quarter of 2021 (q-to-q) grew by 6.87 percent. From the production side, the category of Provision of Accommodation and Food and Drink with the largest contribution to the contraction was 0.61 percent, followed by the Transportation and Warehousing category with a share of 0.56 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the Government Consumption Expenditure component contributed the largest growth, namely 4.60 percent; followed by Net Exports with a share of 1.89 percent.
In the regional scope, the GRDP of Kepulauan Riau in the fourth quarter of 2021 contributed 7.58 percent to the GRDP of the island of Sumatra.
