Abstract

The number of the workforce in August 2022 was 1,259 712 people, an increase of 52 698 people compared to August 2021. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) increased by 0.67 percentage points.

The working population is 1 155 997 people, an increase of 68 578 people from August 2021 (up 6.31 percentage points). The employment field that experienced the largest increase in workers was the Accommodation and Food and Drink Provision Sector (35 840 people). Meanwhile, the sector that experienced the largest decline in employment was the Education Services Sector with a decline of 19 242 people.

A total of 419 822 people (36.32 percent) worked in informal activities, an increase of 1.12 percentage points compared to August 2021.

The percentage of underemployed and part-time workers decreased by 14.70 percent and 5.09 percent, respectively, compared to August 2021.

The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2022 was 8.23 percent, down 1.68 percentage points compared to August 2021.

There are 29 557 people (1.62 percent of the working age population) affected by COVID-19. Consists of unemployment due to COVID-19 (2 040 people), Non-Working Force (BAK) due to COVID-19 (3 437 people), temporarily not working due to COVID-19 (1 966 people), and working residents who experienced a reduction in working hours due to COVID-19 (22 114 people).
